We will have our annual Open House on Thursday, Aug 27th, at 5:30. Parents will “walk” their students schedule and go to each period. We will have our volunteer training before Open House at 5:00 in our cafeteria. Anyone who is interested in volunteering in any way needs to attend this training. In addition, our Book Fair will open at 4:45 and close at 7:30 in the library on Thursday. Have a great night.

Good evening Dolphins, we have had a great start to the school year. I am very happy with the way the students have adjusted getting back to school and are back in the swing of things. We will have our annual Open House on Thursday, Aug 27th, at 5:30. Parents will “walk” their students schedule and go to each period. We will have our volunteer training before Open House at 5:00 in our cafeteria. Anyone who is interested in volunteering in any way needs to attend this training. Finally, our first period tardy bell rings at 7:15. Students must be in their 1st period class by this time or need to sign in at the front office. Thanks for your understanding and have a great night.

This Friday, Aug. 21st Gulf Breeze Middle School will begin our online Compass Curriculum, which covers lessons created by experts in the field and cover grade level mandated topics in an appropriated, interactive manner. These lessons are required by Florida State Board of Education statute 1003.42, which is related to required instruction in health education topics for students in Grades K-12. Please see the attached letter and monthly curriculum of topics.

Hello GBMS Families,
This is Mr. Brandon, principal of Gulf Breeze Middle, with an important message for parents and families. We conducted a lockdown drill at school today as part of our regular emergency drill process as required by state law. We know that drills can cause possible concerns for our students, but we believe it’s important for them to know exactly what to do in an emergency and these practice drills enhance their safety. Again, all students are safe, and this is simply a required lockdown drill. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Please get these forms back to us as soon as possible. Don't forget when dropping off or picking up to please pull forward as much as possible. Finally, our PTO is sponsoring a back to school dance on Friday from 5-7 before the football game. The cost is $20 and tickets can be bought during lunches or online. Good evening Dolphins, this is Mr. Brandon and we are looking forward to seeing all of our students tomorrow. If your student did not pick up his or her schedule on Friday, please have them come to the office to pick up the schedule. Due to safety concerns, parents will not be allowed to walk students around the building. We had to do a little balancing over the weekend, and some classes may have changed for students that did not pick up their schedules. If students arrive to campus before 7:05, they can go to two places depending on the grade level. All 6th grade students will go to the Stringfellow room. 7th and 8th grade students will go to the blacktop. All students can go to the cafeteria for breakfast. Students arriving after 7:05 will go straight to their 1st period class. There will be staff all around campus to guide students all day long. When dropping off or picking up, please pull forward all the way to the end of the cones and barriers. We want to get as many cars off Highway 98 as possible. Thanks, and we look forward to a wonderful day tomorrow.

Good evening, our schedule pick up day is finally here!! 7th grade will start the day off tomorrow from 8 – 9:30; 8th grade will come from 10 – 11; and finally, our 6th grade will pick up schedules from 12 – 1:30. We will have stations in the cafeteria where you can get information for transportation, PTO, PE uniforms, yearbooks, and more. Parents can also use this time to drop and sign off medications in the clinic. Students are not allowed to bring medications to school. Please remember that students must follow the schedules that are picked up tomorrow. Any other versions are invalid. We would like to give a big shout out to Ryan Hepworth and his wife Debbie for giving the front of our school much needed landscaping. Ryan saw a need and volunteered his services. We are so fortunate to have the support of folks like Ryan who constantly give their time and service. Thanks again Ryan and Debbie and we cannot wait to see our students. Have a great night.

GBMS Students & Families,

Your 2026-2027 course requests are now available for you to view on your STUDENT’s Focus (not the Parent Portal) account. When you log into Focus, you must change the academic year at the top to reflect next school year 2026-2027 (the screen coloring will change to red). Then select “Class Requests” under your student profile.

Here are few things to remember:
1. These are your course requests and are not listed in any particular order. This is not your schedule.
2. The course requests for 7th and 8th grade are the ones signed up for in April. 6th grade selections came from the course selection cards.
3. We have finalized our advanced courses based on final grades, teacher recommendations, and FAST scores. (7th grade Algebra has not been put in yet. Summer packets for Algebra and Geometry are due tomorrow, June 26.)
4. If you see an error or have any questions, please call the school.

Our summer hours are Mon – Thurs, 8 -2 and Friday, 8 -12. We are closed July 2nd and 3rd for the 4th of July holiday and July 16th and 17th for the Blue Angels.

Good morning,
There have been some questions about final grades in Civics, Algebra, and Geometry. There is no final average yet as the EOC has not been transferred to a numerical grade. Once this occurs, the numerical grade for the EOC will count 30% of the final average. We are opening this grade gets put in by the end of June and final averages are computed. Have a great day.

From GBHS for 8th graders:

Students & Families,

Your 2026-2027 course requests now available for you to view on your STUDENT’s Focus (not the Parent Portal) account. When you log into Focus, you must change the academic year at the top to reflect next school year (the screen coloring will change to red). Then select “Class Requests” under your student profile.

Here are few things to remember:

1. These are your course requests and are not listed in any particular order. This is not your schedule.
2. The course requests are from your signed registration card, the registration meeting with your school counselor (for returning GBHS students), and any updates to your requests after the end of the year state assessment prerequisites.
3. GBHS will not be offering AP Business & Finance as it does not meet the Florida requirement for Personal Finance. We are offering Personal Finance and Money Management Honors (paired with Public Service Leadership Honors) in its place.
4. If you have Research 1, Research 2 or Intensive Reading on your requests, you have been placed in the reading intervention course based on your FAST ELA assessment history. Earning a Level 3 on your 10th Grade FAST ELA PM3 is a requirement to earn your diploma.
5. All summer assignments have been posted on our school website, under the Guidance and Summer Assignments tab. It is the student’s responsibility to complete the assignments for any honors courses with the requirement prior to the first day of school.

If there is an error on your Class Request screen (not a change of mind in electives), then please complete the online form (link below) for your counselor to review the correction. Please DO NOT email your counselor concerning course request corrections. Counselors work part time various days throughout the summer. Your counselor will email you prior to August 1st with any correction update.
