GBMS Students & Families,

Your 2026-2027 course requests are now available for you to view on your STUDENT’s Focus (not the Parent Portal) account. When you log into Focus, you must change the academic year at the top to reflect next school year 2026-2027 (the screen coloring will change to red). Then select “Class Requests” under your student profile.

Here are few things to remember:
1. These are your course requests and are not listed in any particular order. This is not your schedule.
2. The course requests for 7th and 8th grade are the ones signed up for in April. 6th grade selections came from the course selection cards.
3. We have finalized our advanced courses based on final grades, teacher recommendations, and FAST scores. (7th grade Algebra has not been put in yet. Summer packets for Algebra and Geometry are due tomorrow, June 26.)
4. If you see an error or have any questions, please call the school.

Our summer hours are Mon – Thurs, 8 -2 and Friday, 8 -12. We are closed July 2nd and 3rd for the 4th of July holiday and July 16th and 17th for the Blue Angels.

Good morning,
There have been some questions about final grades in Civics, Algebra, and Geometry. There is no final average yet as the EOC has not been transferred to a numerical grade. Once this occurs, the numerical grade for the EOC will count 30% of the final average. We are opening this grade gets put in by the end of June and final averages are computed. Have a great day.

From GBHS for 8th graders:

Students & Families,

Your 2026-2027 course requests now available for you to view on your STUDENT’s Focus (not the Parent Portal) account. When you log into Focus, you must change the academic year at the top to reflect next school year (the screen coloring will change to red). Then select “Class Requests” under your student profile.

Here are few things to remember:

1. These are your course requests and are not listed in any particular order. This is not your schedule.
2. The course requests are from your signed registration card, the registration meeting with your school counselor (for returning GBHS students), and any updates to your requests after the end of the year state assessment prerequisites.
3. GBHS will not be offering AP Business & Finance as it does not meet the Florida requirement for Personal Finance. We are offering Personal Finance and Money Management Honors (paired with Public Service Leadership Honors) in its place.
4. If you have Research 1, Research 2 or Intensive Reading on your requests, you have been placed in the reading intervention course based on your FAST ELA assessment history. Earning a Level 3 on your 10th Grade FAST ELA PM3 is a requirement to earn your diploma.
5. All summer assignments have been posted on our school website, under the Guidance and Summer Assignments tab. It is the student’s responsibility to complete the assignments for any honors courses with the requirement prior to the first day of school.

If there is an error on your Class Request screen (not a change of mind in electives), then please complete the online form (link below) for your counselor to review the correction. Please DO NOT email your counselor concerning course request corrections. Counselors work part time various days throughout the summer. Your counselor will email you prior to August 1st with any correction update.

Earlier today, Gulf Breeze High School received an anonymous call regarding a possible threat. Out of an abundance of caution, Gulf Breeze Schools entered Secure Facility status while local law enforcement responded and assisted. All students and staff are safe, and normal school operations have resumed. We appreciate your patience and understanding as safety remains our top priority.

Our Mock Trial team traveled to Tampa this weekend for the state competition. The students represented Gulf Breeze Middle and the Gulf Breeze Community in a positive way , even if they did not win. We were the only public school represented and I very proud of them. I would also like to thank their sponsors, Mike Rodgerson and Chris Cornelius, for their tireless efforts this year. Job well done by all.
